King experienced the struggle for civil rights firsthand–and inspired by Malcolm X, converted to Islam. King worked security for Louis Farrakham, and now is head of security for the Hip Hop group Public Enemy. After the film screening, director Reda Zine will draw parallels between Tony King’s involvement in the civil rights movement and the Arab Spring, Islam and activism, and the connections between current struggles in Europe and past American movements.
